Black & White
Take a colorful RAW image and convert it to BW in three different ways:
First Desaturate the image in either Camera Raw (bottom slider in main edit screen, drag all the way to the left) or in Photoshop(Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation. Drag Saturation to left to -100). Save this with “desat’ in name.
Then convert it to Black and White via “Grayscale’ in Photoshop (Image>Adjustments>Grayscale (say yes to discarding the color information)). Save that one with “gray’ in the name.
Now use the Camera Raw (or Lightroom) editor in Camera Raw (fourth button under the Histogram, then click “Convert to Grayscale’ button. Use the color sliders to alter the way the original color tones convert to gray). Save this with “BW’ in the name.
Upload these, along WITH THE ORIGINAL COLOR IMAGE, for your assignment this week.
