First Contact Assignment

Hello, my name is Henri Wendler this is my 2nd year attending uaf and I’m excited to finally take a photography class. Photography has always seemed interesting to me because of its ability to capture a moment in time forever. I love to use to my phone to take pictures and I enjoy looking back at the good times I’ve captured, however I want to have the ability to use a professional camera and take pictures that are seen as art. I hope this class opens up a new hobby and skill I can carry on for the rest of my life. 
The photograph I chose is a picture of a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR. This photograph was taken during the Mille Miglia race in 1955. I think this photograph works perfectly because it captures an important piece of history. It shows the evolution of both automobiles/racing and photography.
