Unit 1, First Pics

Hello,

My name is Ryan DeCorso and I’m from Fairbanks, Alaska. I have been taking photographs as a hobby for about seven years, although I have been on somewhat of a hiatus for about a year and a half and hope to use this class to motivate me again and gain some experience as well as  technical skills.

I took this photo recently, and thought it would be a good example to include as it has some aspects that I feel really work, as well as some aspects that do not. I really liked the framing of the bulb between the books, and the way the glass contorts the shapes, colors, and reflections. I also liked the sharp lines of the filaments. However, the bulb is off center, which in many ways ruins the image.
